This railway station in Hoek van Holland opened on June 1, 1893. It was located about 700 meters further west than the Hoek van Holland Haven station. Due to the construction of the Maasvlakte, the coastline moved further out to sea in 1971 than when the station was opened, so the station is no longer situated close to the beach but rather over a kilometer away from it.
