Castle Horn is one of the oldest, intact medieval ring wall castles in the Netherlands. Can you visit Castle Horn?
Castle Horn is one of the oldest, still intact medieval ring wall castles in the Netherlands.
The castle is built on a natural elevation at an old bend of the Meuse River. It was built in the thirteenth century as an irregular round castle with four round corner towers.
Surrounding the castle is a beautiful park. In this park, alongside the castle, there is also a castle farm, a pigsty, a service house with a barn, a large barn, and a garage. Both the buildings and the park are national monuments.
Is Castle Horn open to visitors?
The castle is privately owned and therefore not freely accessible. The park is always open to walkers.
