In 1870, Joseph Meens founded the Alfa Brewery in the leafy hills of Thull in South Limburg. ALFA is one of the few breweries in the Netherlands that still operate completely independently and are not dependent on a large group. The brewery, which is still in the hands of the Meens family, is now the 4th generation of the Meens family at the helm.
