Description

At the northernmost point of Texel is the famous red painted lighthouse. From the circulation it is, at 45 meters above sea level, enjoying the view over the North Sea, Vlieland, the Wadden Sea and Texel. In clear weather you can also see Terschelling.
In the past, the tower was only accessible to the tower guards. Until 2003, they guarded the coast from here and supervised ship traffic. Now everyone can climb up and see as far as the eye can see.
