The duck decoy is owned by Natuurmonumenten. With an area of 30 hectares (the average decoy is only 3 hectares), it is one of the largest duck decoys in all of Europe. In the past, the Great Otter Decoy consisted of five decoy ponds and seventeen catching pipes. Nowadays, there are still three decoy ponds and nine catching pipes intact. Once, the forests around the duck decoys were intended to attract ducks. Now they serve as a resting place for many animals. During a boating excursion, you can visit the Great Otter Decoy.
