Café Het Verdronken Land is a well-known establishment in Hulst and the surrounding area. It is located just across the border with the Netherlands on the Scheldt dike in Emmadorp. The operators Gina (60) and Sofie (32), mother and daughter, take pride in claiming that this is the "coziest terrace in Hulst and the surrounding area." The striking and quirky terrace and café is, to say the least, an experience. It is packed, yet tastefully decorated with brocante. "A lot makes clean," says Gina with a smile. The operators place a high value on their surroundings and have great respect for nature. "The swallows can fly in and out here. They even build their nests here," Gina shares.
