The Merwede Bridge is a fixed traffic bridge in the A27 at Rkm 956.90 over the Boven-Merwede between Gorinchem and Sleeuwijk. The clearance height is NAP + 13.50 m. On the north side, there is a bascule bridge incorporated into the bridge, which has a width of 30 meters and a height in the closed position of NAP + 11.90 m.
It is a unique double-arch bridge in the Netherlands and forms an important connection between the provinces of South Holland and North Brabant. The bridge is 780 meters long with two arches, each 170 meters. Extending from the bridge on the north side is an access viaduct of 550 meters in length over the Steenenhoek Canal and the Gorinchem - Dordrecht railway line. The bridge was opened on March 15, 1961, by Queen Juliana.
