At the Noorderpier of Hoek van Holland, a large German bunker has stood since 1943. This bunker, a gun bunker of building type 611, was part of the infamous 'Atlantic Wall' during World War II.
In recent years, this gun bunker has been transformed by volunteers into the new visitor center. The museum tells the story of the Atlantic Wall through dioramas, information panels, audio-visual material, and authentic objects. Guided tours of the former German anti-aircraft battery 'Nordmole' are regularly organized.
