The Gulperberg or Gulpenerberg is a hill in the Heuvelland located near Gulpen in the south of the Dutch province of Limburg. On top of the Gulperberg is the concrete Marian monument from 1935 by sculptor Charles Vos and architect Piet Gerrits. On May 26, 1969, the free festival Pinknick was held there. It was a combination of a picnic with performances by pop groups. There were about 20,000 visitors. In addition to Brainbox and Armand, there were mainly bands from Limburg: Opus 23, The Sharons, KEEM, Geno's Blue Busters, Static, Relax, Blitz & Whoom, Soul Inspiration and Doctor Loulou's Blues Clinic. From 1970 onwards, the event, but now commercially, was continued in Geleen, under the name Pinkpop.
