'T Havenrak
The view over the water of the harbor basin of Broek in Waterland, officially called 't Havenrak, has captivated visitors through the centuries. For a long time, Broek was known as a village of wealthy (mostly Amsterdam) rentiers and people who had earned their money on the Amsterdam stock exchange. Until the arrival of the North Holland Steam Tram departing from Amsterdam-North in 1888, almost everyone, townsfolk and foreigners alike, arrived in the harbor of Broek by ship.
