Along the canals of Woerden, one can take a beautiful circular walk; on the ramparts, there are, among other things, city parks and cemeteries. The star-shaped structure of the fortress has remained completely intact.
The Westdampark used to be a ravelin with an access road. There is nothing left of the ravelin as the inner moat has been filled in. The former fortifications have taken on various new functions. For example, the park contains a Jewish cemetery from 1856 and a monumental water tower.
