Schoondijke is a real agricultural village. It existed as early as 1248. It was then called Vuyldijke. It was destroyed during the Eighty Years' War. In 1652 houses reappeared. Initially, it was then known as Willemsdorp. Later, the residents preferred Schoondijke, no doubt inspired by the original name. Although the importance of agriculture has decreased, the agricultural character around Schoondijke is still clearly present. The agricultural atmosphere can also be found in the village in the form of sculptures, such as The Horse, The Sower and The Rising Grain.
