Station Venlo Oostsingel is the former station of the Dutch city of Venlo for the railway line to Germany via Straelen. Until the 19th century, the Elizeese Velden was located at this site, just outside the Keulsepoort. This was a country estate where balls and concerts were regularly held.
Venlo Oostsingel was opened in 1874 and was equipped with a station building in that same year. Everything was built according to typical Prussian principles: large, heavy, and solid. The Cöln-Mindener Eisenbahngesellschaft provided housing for the staff in spacious residences along the track, a large reception and arrival hall, and a large train yard. There were 10 to 15 tracks, each 700 meters long.
