Lange Linschoten is a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Oudewater in the province of Utrecht. It lies along the river Lange Linschoten between Oudewater and Linschoten. Within Lange Linschoten, North Linschoten and South Linschoten were distinguished.
The high lordships of Lange Linschoten and Snelrewaard belonged to the region of Holland. Both lordships had the same owner, who also owned the lordship of Hekendorp. On January 1, 1812, Lange Linschoten and Snelrewaard were merged into the Utrecht municipality of Linschoten. Subsequently, as the old provincial borders were restored, there was a peculiar situation from September 19, 1814, to April 1, 1817, where the municipality of Linschoten was located in two provinces. On January 1, 1818, Snelrewaard and Lange Linschoten merged to form the new municipality of Snelrewaard. As of January 1, 1989, Snelrewaard along with Lange Linschoten was incorporated into Oudewater.
