Due to the arrival of wealthy Amsterdammers from the end of the 19th century, many country houses were built around the old village centers of Laren and Blaricum. These large houses featured plenty of greenery in their expansive gardens. The architect Rueter (Not for inclusion: Pronounced as Ruuter) built his own residence with studio at Noolseweg 25 in 1901. He named his house Langenakker.
