The building, located on the south side of Parkweg near Paterswoldseweg, was built in 1927 as a primary school designed by the then municipal architect Siebe Jan Bouma in the style of the Amsterdam School. It is a symmetrical building on a rectangular floor plan, consisting of a central entrance section with an extended semi-circular gymnasium and two wings with classrooms.
