The chimney of this smoking house, built in 1936 according to a design by architect J.C.M. van Duijne, is visible from afar. This last remaining smoking house in the harbor of Scheveningen reminds us of the village's rich fishing history. The building also contains a repair loft where, in bad weather, the fisherwomen mended the nets. In good weather, they preferred to sit outside.
