The chapel was designed by the Groningen architect Antonius Theodorus van Elmpt and was built in 1915. The chapel is built in a rationalist style, from the first half of the 20th century. The chapel has a cross shape, with both gable roofs intersecting. At the intersection of both roofs there is a ridge ridge in which a bell hangs. At the rear there is an apse and at the front a vestibule. The chapel has remained almost intact. The stained glass windows incorporate Christian symbols such as a dove and a wine chalice. The chapel was dedicated to Saint Egbert. Since the late 2000s, the chapel has been administered by the Jesuits.
