The White Damselfly

De Witte Juffer is a flour mill in IJzendijke in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The mill did not have a name for a long time, but in 2009 the current owner named it De Witte Juffer.

The mill was built in 1841 as a ground sailer. Later, the mill was raised to a scaffolding mill. The mill has a number of Flemish characteristics. In 1931 the mill was dismantled and in 1965 the mill was restored to its former glory. Later, a few more restorations followed to improve the mill's grinding skills. Unique to this mill is the Flemish construction of the roof. The mill is owned by the municipality of Sluis and is regularly put into operation by a volunteer miller.

The rods of the mill are almost 24 meters long and are equipped with the Old Dutch fencing (fenced in the Flemish way) with sails. The mill is equipped with one pair of grinding stones.
