The Church of the Assumption of Mary is a neo-Gothic church building located at Dorpsstraat 50 in Graauw.
The parish of Grauw and Langendam was founded in 1805 and was dedicated to Our Lady of Assistance, later this became: Mary Assumption, popularly known as Mary Assumption. The first parish priest was a Capuchin who had been expelled from his monastery in Mechelen by the French in 1797. This parish priest stimulated devotion to Saint Godelieve. As early as 1806, the church possessed a relic of this saint. Until 1841 the parish was still part of the Zeeland part of the diocese of Ghent, after which it fell under the Apostolic Vicariate of Breda, the later diocese.
