The Protestant church in Gennep is a three-sided closed hall church that was built between 1661 and 1663. It is the oldest church on Dutch territory built with its own means. Until 1816, the church was Dutch Reformed, the predecessor of the Dutch Reformed Church. Together with the Petershuis, the municipal office, the old church tower of the Saint Martin's Church, and the town hall of Gennep at the Markt, the church forms an important part of the appearance of Gennep.
