The station, of the Standard type HESM, was located on the Aalsmeer - Amsterdam Willemspark railway line and was opened on May 1, 1915. The station was closed to passenger transport on September 3, 1950. It remained in use for freight transport until May 27, 1972.
Since April 3, 1983, the Electric Museum Tram Line Amsterdam has had a stop here. Until April 25, 1997, this was also the terminus of the museum tram line. A switch point has been established on the north side, at the viaduct over Rijksweg 9.
