At the Belgium-Netherlands border, along which the Wachtebeke walking network Trage Wegen runs (between the Oudeburgse Sluis and Overslag), there are several white conical border posts that are part of a series of 369 poles. They were placed over the entire border line from Vaal (number 1) to Knokke-Heist (number 369). as stipulated in the Maastricht Treaty of 1843. The poles are made of cast iron and weigh 600 kg, have a black pear-shaped head and feature the black-painted coats of arms of Belgium and the Netherlands.
