Commemorative plaque in Lambertuskerk, Dorpsstraat Mheer
The plaque in the St. Lambertus Church in Mheer is made of black natural stone. The plate has gold-coloured lettering. In the bottom right corner is a photo of Jacques Berndsen. The plaque hangs in the porch of the H. Lambertus Church on the Dorpsstraat in Mheer.
The plaque was erected in memory of Jacques Berndsen who was killed during the police actions in the former Dutch East Indies.
Jacques Leo Maria Berndsen was born on 14 June 1925 in Mheer. The soldier (assigned to 1-3-14 RI) was killed on 3 January 1949 at Tjikatomas. He is buried at the Dutch War Cemetery Menteng Pulo in Jakarta.
