The Diemerbos is a forest that was established in the 1990s. The forest is an important part of the nature reserve "Gaasp and Diem" and is a young forest. The trees were planted in the early nineties in an open polder with a lot of water. However, during the excavation work for the forest, old trunks were found in the peat soil because there had been a forest there a long time ago as well.
