This chapel was established after World War II.
Because World War II had fortunately proceeded without serious material damage for the people of Etten, they wanted to establish a Marian chapel as a token of gratitude.
The fire station on the Market, which had become empty when the fire department found a better location, proved suitable for this purpose, and in 1952 it was leased by the municipality as a chapel.
