In the flat landscape of the countryside of Raamsdonk, you can view FOOTPRINT from all directions. Two pairs of shoe soles together form a gate, with the passage being the Halvezolenpad. The shoe soles refer to the shoe and leather industry that was once found in the Low Street region. And thus also in Raamsdonk. Those who look closely can recognize the steam locomotive in the soles that used to run along the railway line. The typical Snake Landscape, so characteristic of this region, is also reflected in the design. The artwork is made of corten steel. This material usage refers to the rails of the former railway line. FOOTPRINT by artist Harald Vlugt is the second artwork specifically created for the art project Halvezolenlijn. The artwork was unveiled on July 13, 2016.
