The Keelven is a nature reserve with pine forests, fens, and heath. The area has various walking routes, ranging from 4 to 9 km. These routes are accessible from the parking lot near the Keelven on the Provincial Road in Someren-Heeze. There are also bike paths running through the area (part of the bike junction network). Additionally, marked mountain bike routes run through the area. Since 2017, there has also been a hospitality location at the Keelven parking lot: De Soete Inval Vennenhorst. Scottish Highlanders also roam the area, helping to prevent the heath from becoming overgrown.
