You are now at the ferry of Jonen. The hamlet of Jonen is known for its cycle and foot ferry. No one really knows where the name Jonen comes from. There are two possibilities. The name is derived from a 'joon' in the water. That is a floating barrel with a stick on it, as a marker in the navigable waters. And then there is the legend of the Franciscan monk Jona. He came to live here and named the place Jonen.
