Description

The current brasserie de Muldermolen is located directly opposite the Mulderplas on the associated nature reserve. At the rear you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Krekelberg with a beautiful view of the Lady Chapel.
This Mulderplas was once the area where one of the many watermills, the 'old' Muldermolen, stood along the Geleenbeek. Since this was a very swampy area and the old mill, which dated from 1339, was always flooded, the state mines built the 'new' Mulder mill in 1948.
Since March 2015, after years of functioning as a grain trade and farm, this building has been home to a more than cozy brasserie. The rich history of the building and the history of the area around the Mulderplas is a great attraction for day trippers and tourists.
The Muldermolen is therefore frequently visited by walkers, cyclists and nature lovers due to its perfect location in the middle of the area called the Geleenbeek valley. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes available that start from here and offer you the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings.
The menu of the Muldermolen features a wide choice of Burgundian lunch and dinner dishes, often prepared with local products. There is something for everyone and the dishes are prepared with love by the kitchen team. Service and hospitality are therefore of paramount importance and we only work with top products from local suppliers.
For example, coffee is served from the top brand Peeze and the Limburg pies are delivered fresh daily by the local bakery and you can certainly taste it! In addition to the lager from beer brewer Swinckels, there is also a wide choice of special beers on tap that you can taste while enjoying a snack or a luxurious board full of delicacies.
In the building of the brasserie there are also three beautiful B&Bs where you can spend the night. These are fully furnished apartments that are equipped with a bath and kitchen where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings that Schinnen has to offer. It is therefore the perfect base for your holiday trip or weekend to Limburg.
From the spring of 2021, the completely new parking lot with more than 28 spaces on the side of the brasserie will be realized and the entire area around the Mulderplas and the Geleenbeek will be equipped with new footpaths and bridges. A great opportunity to come and have a look.
