The mill was moved to its current location in 1822 and operated on wind power until 1947, when an electric motor took over the function. The owner continued his business elsewhere in an electric mill. The municipality of Wilnis purchased the mill, which was restored as a stationary monument in 1965. The Foundation of the Utrecht Mills bought the mill in 1971, and in the following two years, the mill was restored to be operational again. Since then, millers have been voluntarily grinding grain in the mill on a weekly basis. The sails are nearly 24 meters long and equipped with the traditional Dutch sail system with sails. The mill possesses one pair of grinding stones.
