Wierstersyl Lock is a lock located just northeast of the Frisian village of Wier in the municipality of Waadhoeke. The Wierstersyl in the Wierzijlsterrak provides access to the Bildt section of the Northern Eleven Cities sailing route, together with the Anita Andriesensluis. The locks were completed in 2011, and on April 28, 2011, the names were revealed, and the Wierstersyl Lock was handed over to the municipality of Het Bildt by Jaap Keizer, chairman of the steering group. The lock is automatic and can be operated easily by oneself. It is equipped with kluun stairs and a fish passage. During the Elfstedentocht (Eleven Cities Tour), it is necessary to kluun here.
