Maashorst Nature Reserve is a 2400-hectare more or less contiguous landscape park that extends over the area of the municipality of the same name and the municipalities of Bernheze and Oss. A visitor centre is located near the hamlet of Slabroek near Nistelrode.The area consists of a number of different landscape types: coniferous forest, often on fixed drifting sand, four scattered heaths, a few fens, modern agricultural area, old-fashioned farmland with fields, wet grasslands and hedgerows.
