To the south of the convent of the Franciscan Sisters Penitents Recollectines from Roosendaal stands, parallel to the Nieuwstraat and the Markendaalseweg, the former convent chapel, dating from 1904-'05 and built to a design by the Breda architect J. Lijdsman. The chapel is executed in sober neo-Gothic style, inspired by the fourteenth-century French late Gothic. The building has undergone some modifications over time. In the 1960s, the interior was remodeled. Now restaurant Liefdegesticht this is part of Hotel Nassau.
