The Dells

A maze of hiking trails meanders through the steep hillside forest of De Dellen. At the edge of the forest, you can take a look at the impressive Curfs quarry, an old
marl quarry that has been returned to nature. The forest itself is quite open and parts of it have a lovely carpet of flowers in the spring.
Don't be alarmed if you come face to face with one of the Galloway cattle that graze here year-round (keep 25 metres away). Rare animals that can be found here are the
Short-billed treecreeper, the stone marten and the hazel mouse.
