This cross is maintained by the residents of the Bungartshoff farm, the Ferron family.
It has been destroyed several times and the corpus damaged. In 2002, the nineteenth-century old corpus, which was entirely cast in lead, was
removed and later found in German Lemiers with broken arms. Guus Herbergs has restored it.
The original corpus has been placed on a new wooden cross at the Bungartshof. In 2006, the entire cross was renewed in oak wood and on Sunday, October 22,
blessed by the pastor of the St. Peter's Church in Orsbach. The new cross was made by artist Gottfrid Walther from Orsbach.
The corpus is depicted as "the Christ with the Smile".
