Batavia is a neighborhood in the districts of Biezen and Haven- and industrial area in Nijmegen. The neighborhood lies along the Waal river in the urban areas of Nijmegen-Oud-West and Nijmegen-Nieuw-West.
The neighborhood was constructed in two phases between 2015 and 2018 in the area between the old Honig complex, the Oversteek bridge, the Weurtseweg, and the Waal. Between 1913 and 2015 it was an industrial area. A total of 500 buy and rental homes will be built in the neighborhood. The Batavia neighborhood will consist of three parts, namely: Batavia North with rental homes, Batavia South with purchase homes, and Fort Krayenhoff. The houses in Batavia South are built in a style resembling that of the 19th-century houses in Nijmegen-Oost and Bottendaal. The neighborhood was initially to be named Koningsdaal.
