The Waterlandplein is the central square and neighborhood shopping center of the Waterlandpleinbuurt district located in Amsterdam-Noord. The square lies north of the Werengouw, south of the IJdoornlaan, west of the Volendammerweg, and east of the Beverwijkstraat.
The square was completed in the late 1960s and consisted of high-rise buildings with shops underneath and low separate retail pavilions in between. The square was named after the Waterland north of Amsterdam by a council decision on October 30, 1963. Before the renovation, bus line 33 had its terminal loop between the square and the Beverwijkstraat.
