The Hekslootpolder is a polder and nature reserve between Haarlem-North and Spaarndam. It is a peat meadow area where birds nest. The area is part of the Spaarnwoude recreation area as a green buffer zone between Haarlem and Amsterdam. The watercourse Heksloot runs through the area. The polder is also part of the Stelling van Amsterdam, which determined that the field of fire must remain free. Between the Hekslootpolder and the Fort south of Spaarndam lies the Oude Spaarndammerpolder, which is part of the nature reserve.
