Gasterij Kruisberg
In the middle of the dune area of Heemskerk you can enjoy 'naturally' at Gasterij Kruisberg. The cycle path passes right by this cozy restaurant with a large terrace. There is so much to see here; from chalkboards with original texts to a dog bar. Chickens roam freely between the outdoor tables, where guests can enjoy fresh scones or a tasty lunch. The (seasonal) products come from the region as much as possible and you can taste it. The showpiece of Gasterij Kruisberg has nothing to do with horses, but it does have to do with Highlanders. The Highlander citizens are famous.
Gasterij Kruisberg, together with the Crosshill foundation, takes care of the grazing in the dune between Wijk aan Zee and Castricum for the PWN. They have about 450 sheep, 70 Highlanders, 80 Dutch land goats and 20 Exmoor ponies. Various activities are also organized, read about them via gasterijkruisberg.nl/crosshill
