On the other side of the Zoomweg is housing that is part of the Wageningen-Hoog district. This land originally also belonged to estate De Driest. The development of that district shows how in the early twentieth century, as a result of the growing popularity of outdoor living, not only estates, but also new villa districts were developed. Outdoor recreation also increased. Recreation park de Wielerbaan testifies to this and is located on your right. The original velodrome was built in 1933, but now serves as a play and swimming location in the park.
