Village behind the dike
The small Hoofdplaat [d’Oôfploate] is the youngest village in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and is located at the mouth of the Western Scheldt. From the promenade, you can walk to the viewing platform. From here, you have a beautiful view of the busy Western Scheldt.
Spotting seals
From the seawall, you have the best chance of seeing seals. They usually lie on sandbanks between Nummer Eén and Hoofdplaat sunbathing. Be sure to bring binoculars!
