Red Thunders
https://www.visitalmere.com/nl/locaties/935938828/rode-donders, designed by Liesbeth van der Pol in the rainbow neighbourhood, mark the transition from the low-rise districts of Almere to the polder. The buildings are inspired by silos of the polder. Really everything is red! This makes the buildings unique compared to 'traditional' housing. The base of the towers is formed by houses that support the flats as buttresses. Did you know that the eight houses that serve as buttresses have a garden at ground level?
