The Parkstad region has a rich history of mining, both above and below ground. Since the early 20th century, silver sand extraction has been taking place in the area. Quarries that will receive a sustainable repurposing in the coming years and make a piece of beautiful nature accessible again. This route through the quarries connects the Vrieheide silver sand quarry with the Sibelco quarry. Along the way, you will encounter several special viewpoints. The information point is located at the entrance of the Brunssummerheide.

The nearly 8 km route crosses the Parkstad route at 2 points, which will be ready by mid-2024. Furthermore, you can easily switch to another cycling route via the junctions. The route is signposted on the asphalt with the quarry imprint.
