The Historical Circle of Bussum proudly presents this walking/cycling route along places that remind of the childhood years of Dutch television. The choice in 1951 for Bussum as the location for experimental television marked the beginning of a special period for the village. The rapidly developing TV production company claimed more and more space in Bussum society. At its peak, the Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS) used more than twenty buildings. After the important Vitus studio was destroyed by fire in 1971, TV activities gradually shifted to Hilversum. Several buildings were demolished, making way for new developments. It takes a little imagination to visualize the old situation. The information provided here offers a helpful hand.
