Sometimes it seems as if the Rivierenbuurt is a place where hardly anything changes. But indeed, quite a bit has changed in our familiar neighborhood.
On September 7, 2008, we walked past 21 points of interest that only vaguely remind of the situation in the forties/fifties. Because the buildings that stood there were demolished, because vacant lots were built upon. Because the sightlines are interrupted in several places by the high-rise buildings at the Omval and at the RAI, making the district seem smaller.
It was a successful walk despite the rain. Thank you to everyone, and who knows, maybe we'll do it again next year.
