Cretaceous land path, 7 September 2019

Today the last stage from Vijlen to Valkenburg. After a hearty breakfast at Hotel Restaurant Vijlerhof we set off. Today a route with lots of open terrain, which gives spectacular views of the surrounding land.

On about half of the route we climb the Gulperberg. Here are many benches, nice moment for a stop, down in the village of Gulpen is also a lot of catering.

The last part goes through an open rolling hilly landscape with fields with potatoes, beets or corn to the right and left of the path. In Valkenburg we walk a small tourist tour along the Wilhelmina tower, the Castle Ruins and through the Grendelpoort a round through the shopping streets. From there we set course for the car (or Valkenburg railway station)
