The Vuursche forests surrounding the (pancake) village of Lage Vuursche form a richly varied forest area. It consists of a patchwork of estates and forest areas, with just as many owners and managers. The variation has arisen from this, but also from the frequent alternation of deciduous and coniferous forests, meadows, clearings, heath fields, and several small lakes.
The circular walk starts at Hollandsche Rading station. You walk through the forests of De Zuid (owner Gooisch Nature Reserve), Maartensdijkse Bos (owner Utrechts Landschap), the forests and meadows of estate Eyckenstein, Stulpselaan with Pluismeer and heath area De Stulp, the forests of estate Pijnenburg, Cronebos (owner Nature Monuments), Smithuyserbos (private forest, with the remarkable structure Wolfsdreuvik), and finally back to De Zuid.
