a recreational cycle route through the mining and limestone areas. Kerkrade was the city of the coal industry and Kunrade is known for the unique hard stone, the Kunradersteen. This stone is still mined today and used in the construction of houses or buildings. In Kunrade there are eventually many buildings in which this stone is processed.
