Nice recreational cycling and enjoy nature, Maas and Roer. The Maasplassen are popular for recreation. Water sports in all kinds of ways, but this is a bike ride to enjoy the peace in the early spring. Many types of water birds fly around and breed happily. The boats and the houses are still empty on the Oolderhuuske and yes even the ferry is out of service. That should not spoil the fun, but it is a shame because now we have to cross the busy road bridge. Then we will enter the center of Roermond and continue the route through the city center and then slowly cycle back to the start along the edge of the lakes.
